President of the Republic tours the Region of North Ostrobothnia

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen and Committee Counsellor Pentti Arajärvi will be visiting Oulu on their tour of the Region of North Ostrobothnia, and will attend the consecration of the new bishop of Oulu Diocese on January 5-6, 2001.

The tour will begin with the inauguration of the new head office of the Software House CCC Group, which the presidential couple will attend. This will be followed in the afternoon by a visit to the Friends of the Young Association to hear about the organization's operations and the position of young people in Oulu. The couple will also visit the University of Oulu and Oulun Settlementti ry.

On Saturday, January 6, President Halonen and Committee Counsellor Pentti Arajärvi will attend the episcopal consecration at Oulu Cathedral.
