King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden will make a state visit to Finland on 26-28 August 2003. Crown Princess Victoria will accompany them.
The guests will arrive on board the minelayer Visborg at the South Harbour in Helsinki on Tuesday 26.8, after which the official reception ceremonies will take place at the Presidential Palace. The programme for the Royal Couple’s first day in Finland includes visits to the Eduskunta and the Helsinki City Hall. There will be a banquet at the Presidential Palace in the evening.
The Royal Couple and the Crown Princess will visit Hamina and Porvoo on Wednesday 27.8. Their programme in Hamina will include visits to the Bastion, the City Hall and the City Museum, in Porvoo visits to the Borgå Gymnasium secondary school and the Cathedral.
On Thursday 28.8 the guests will continue to Jyväskylä, where the Royal Couple and the Crown Princess will visit the University, the Alvar Aalto Museum and the Säynätsalo Municipal Centre.
