President Halonen to attend Copenhagen Climate Conference

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen will travel to Copenhagen tomorrow to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference on 16-18 December 2009. President Halonen will head the Finnish delegation and will give Finland's statement at the conference on Wednesday, 16 December.

On Thursday, 17 December President Halonen will speak at a side event on strengthening women's role in decision-making regarding climate change. On Thursday evening she will attend a dinner hosted by the Queen of Denmark and Prince Henrik at the Christiansborg Palace.

The Climate Change Conference will end on Friday, 18 December. Over a hundred heads of state and government will participate in the summit portion of the conference.
