President Halonen to make state visit to Germany

President of the Republic of Finland Tarja Halonen and Dr Pentti Arajärvi are to make a state visit to Germany on 2-5 May 2007.

In Berlin President Halonen will meet Federal President Horst Köhler, Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and other national leaders. The programme will also include a lecture at the German Council on Foreign Relations and a visit to Münich, where President Halonen will meet Prime Minister of Bavaria Edmund Stoiber.

Accompanying President Halonen will be a delegation of Finnish innovation and education experts as well as business leaders, and a Finnish-German innovation seminar will be arranged during the state visit.
