On Tuesday 5 September 2023, President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö met with Chairman of the United States House Foreign Affairs Committee Michael McCaul and other members of the committee at Mäntyniemi.
The President and the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee discussed bilateral relations, defence and security and the war in Ukraine, among other topics.
In addition to Chairman McCaul, the meeting was attended by Ranking Member Gregory Meeks and Representatives Ann Wagner, Gerry Connolly, Thomas Kean, Madeleine Dean and Bill Huizenga.
