President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö was a guest of Yle’s A-studio on Monday, 28 February 2022. The topics of discussion included Finland’s military arms assistance to Ukraine.
“What the Russians will certainly note, which comes in part with these arms exports, but much more broadly, is a united Europe. I’m sure it’s a surprise to them.”
“What has really happened here is that whereas Putin united Ukraine in 2014, now, eight years later, he is uniting Europe and the European Union. We have never seen a such a united European Union on such a major issue as now,” said President Niinistö.
