President of the Republic and Cabinet Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed situation in Ukraine

On Tuesday 13 January 2015, the President of the Republic and the Cabinet Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed the Ukraine situation and Russia. Over the recent days, the ceasefire has been violated several times in the Donbass region.  Attacks have also been reported from Kharkiv, Odessa and Kherson. Finland considers it important that the negotiations continue and calls for a full implementation of the Minsk ceasefire agreement. Finland encourages the Ukrainian Government to make rapid progress on achieving the country’s internal reforms.

The President of the Republic and the Cabinet Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed the terrorist attacks in Paris and expressed their condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Finland strongly condemns terrorism.
