President Niinistö to attend Munich Security Conference

President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö will attend the international Munich Security Conference on 15-17 February 2019 in Germany.

President Niinistö will participate in a panel discussion on arms control on the main stage on Saturday. President Niinistö will also deliver a keynote address in a discussion on the security of the Arctic region. Finland’s Chairmanship of the Arctic Council will continue until May 2019.

During the conference, President Niinistö will also have bilateral meetings.

Organised since 1963, the Munich Security Conference is a discussion forum seeking to promote resolution of conflicts, international cooperation and dialogue. Around 500 foreign and security policy decision-makers will participate in the conference.
