In their meeting on Thursday 21 August, the President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed the current situation in Ukraine, efforts to end Russia’s illegal war of aggression and support for Ukraine following the meeting of the President of the United States, several European leaders and the leaders of the European Union and NATO in Washington D.C. on 18 August. The work to specify the security guarantees for Ukraine will continue.
The President and the Ministerial Committee also discussed the current situation in the Middle East and received a briefing on Israel’s newly launched operation to take over Gaza City.
