President of the Republic of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar paid a working visit to Finland on Monday 1 June 2026. President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb received President Pirc Musar at a welcome ceremony in the forecourt of the Presidential Palace in Helsinki.
After the ceremony, the presidents held a tête-à-tête meeting, followed by official talks between the two countries’ delegations. In addition to bilateral relations, the presidents discussed the security situation in Europe, Russia’s illegal war of aggression in Ukraine, as well as other current foreign and security policy issues.
“Finland and Slovenia are long-term friends and allies. As small countries, we work to strengthen the multilateral system,” President Stubb said.
The presidents also exchanged views on the role of the United Nations in addressing global challenges.
“Together with President Pirc Musar, we share the view that the United Nations should play a greater role in the mediation of wars and conflicts,“ President Stubb continued.
The meeting of the two leaders concluded with a working lunch at the Presidential Palace. In the afternoon, President Pirc Musar visited the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats (Hybrid CoE) and toured the icebreaker Urho.
