President Stubb: Finland and Japan are united by shared values and interests, design and lifestyle

President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb and his spouse Suzanne Innes-Stubb made a visit to Japan from 8 to 12 June 2025.

President Stubb and Mrs Innes-Stubb visited Hakui, Tokyo and Osaka. During the trip, President Stubb made a state call on His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. He also met Prime Minister of Japan Shigeru Ishiba. During their meeting, President Stubb and Prime Minister Ishiba issued a joint statement announcing reinforced cooperation between Finland and Japan. Cooperation will be strengthened in the area of security. The visit concluded with a tour of the Expo 2025 World Exhibition in Osaka.
