President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb hosted a visit to Finland by President of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh on Friday 23 October 2026.
President Stubb received President Khurelsukh at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki, where the two leaders discussed bilateral relations between Finland and Mongolia, as well as regional security issues and multilateral cooperation.

“Finland and Mongolia have a lot in common. We both value democracy and stability. We are both small countries bordering larger neighbours and we are committed supporters of the multilateral system and the United Nations,” President Stubb said at the beginning of the discussions.
President Stubb also provided an update on the current security situation in Europe and Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.

During the visit, four Memoranda of Understanding were signed, further deepening cooperation between Finland and Mongolia in the fields of education and culture.

In the afternoon, the presidents participated in a business forum between Finland and Mongolia at the House of the Estates. One of the objectives of President Khurelsukh’s visit was to strengthen trade between Finland and Mongolia, and he was accompanied by a business delegation of nearly 70 representatives.
“I am pleased that your visit to Finland also includes an extensive business delegation. I believe that we can expand our cooperation in areas such as mining and minerals, clean energy, education and digitalisation,” President Stubb concluded.
