President Stubb meets with parliamentary party chairs


On Tuesday 24 June 2025, President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb met with the chairs of the parties represented in the Finnish Parliament. The meeting took place at the presidential residence in Munkkiniemi, Helsinki.

The meeting focused on the objectives of the upcoming NATO Summit in The Hague, as well as the commitment to defence expenditure to be discussed at the summit. The commitment is significant and long-term. The President and the chairs also discussed the current situation in the Middle East. 

The meeting was attended by chairs Petteri Orpo (The National Coalition Party), Antti Lindtman (The Finnish Social Democratic Party), Riikka Purra (The Finns Party), Antti Kaikkonen (The Centre Party of Finland), Sofia Virta (The Greens), Minja Koskela (The Left Alliance), Harry Harkimo (Movement Now) as well as chairs of parliamentary groups Otto Andersson (Swedish People’s Party of Finland) and Peter Östman (Christian Democrats in Finland).
