President Stubb meets with parliamentary party chairs


On Thursday 28 August 2025, President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb met with chairs of the parties represented in the Finnish Parliament. The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki.

The discussion focused on the recent meeting on peace in Ukraine hosted by President of the United States Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., and efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.

The meeting was attended by chairs Petteri Orpo (The National Coalition Party), Antti Lindtman (The Finnish Social Democratic Party), Riikka Purra (The Finns Party), Antti Kaikkonen (The Centre Party of Finland), Sofia Virta (The Greens), Minja Koskela (The Left Alliance), Sari Essayah (Christian Democrats in Finland) and Harry Harkimo (Movement Now). The Swedish People’s Party of Finland was represented by Member of Parliament and Vice Chair Sandra Bergqvist.

President Stubb last met the party leaders in June 2025.
