President Stubb participates in meeting in Berlin on peace in Ukraine


On Monday 15 December 2025, President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb took part in discussions in Berlin on peace negotiations concerning Ukraine.

According to President Stubb, Ukraine, Europe, and the United States share a common view on the next steps.

“The United States’ commitment to providing security guarantees to Ukraine is a significant step forward. We will continue working on the guarantees together. Ukraine needs financial support. The frozen Russian assets are a key part of this.”

“The work continues. Today, we took steps towards a lasting peace.”

Several European heads of state and government, as well as high-level representatives of the EU and NATO, participated in the discussions. Prior to the discussions, President Stubb met with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
