On Monday 19 May 2025, President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb had a telephone conversation with President of the United States Donald Trump. Also participating in the phone call were President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of France Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
President Trump briefed the participants on his phone call with President of Russia Vladimir Putin, held moments earlier. During the conference call, the participants also discussed the ongoing negotiations, a potential ceasefire, and steps towards achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
