President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb and his spouse Suzanne Innes-Stubb will attend the 80th birthday celebrations of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden on Thursday 30 April 2026 in Stockholm. King Carl XVI Gustaf ascended the throne in 1973 and is the longest-reigning monarch in the country’s history.
In the morning, the presidential couple will take part in a Te Deum service in the Royal Palace Church, after which the festivities will continue at the Royal Palace. The King’s birthday celebrations will culminate in a gala dinner in the evening.
During the day, President Stubb will also meet Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson for talks on bilateral relations between Finland and Sweden, as well as current foreign and security policy issues.
