President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will pay an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on 19–20 April 2026.
On Sunday 19 April, President Stubb will meet with His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II in Amman. The discussions will address the situation in Iran, the Strait of Hormuz and the Middle East. Other topics on the agenda are bilateral relations between Finland and Jordan, Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine and current global challenges.
President Stubb will also visit the University of Jordan where he will deliver a lecture on global transitions and the changing balance of power. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session with students.
On Monday 20 April, the programme includes meetings with Prime Minister of Jordan Jafar Hassan, President of the Senate of Jordan Faisal al-Fayez and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Jordan Mazen al-Qadi.
In addition, President Stubb will visit a Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army base together with His Majesty the King.
The President will be accompanied by Member of Parliament and Chair of Political Parties of Finland for Democracy (Demo Finland) Pihla Keto-Huovinen.
The first presidential visit from Finland to Jordan was made by President Tarja Halonen in 2010.
