President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will travel to Ottawa, Canada, on a working visit on 14–15 April 2026.
On Tuesday 14 April, President Stubb will meet Governor General of Canada Mary Simon. The agenda will include bilateral relations between Finland and Canada and global affairs as well as Arctic issues and the role of indigenous peoples in the sustainable development of the Arctic.
In the afternoon, President Stubb will meet Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney. The discussions will focus on bilateral relations between Finland and Canada, economic and security cooperation, transatlantic relations, Arctic issues, as well as the situation in the Middle East and Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
On Wednesday 15 April, President Stubb will participate in a discussion event at Carleton University on rebalancing the world order in an age of fragmentation. After the university visit, President Stubb will attend a business seminar for a fireside chat on how the business community can contribute to building economic security and resilience.
During his stay in Ottawa, President Stubb will also meet with Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons, Francis Scarpaleggia.
President Stubb will be accompanied on his working visit to Canada by Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen, Minister of Economic Affairs Sakari Puisto and a large business delegation, with companies particularly from the defence, technology, maritime and mining industries.
