President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will make a visit to Kokkola and Oulu on Friday 5 September 2025.
The visit will begin in Kokkola, where the President will attend the inauguration of the Silverstone Port, Hopeakiven satama, a new container port. The event is part of the 200th anniversary celebrations of the Port of Kokkola.
After the inauguration, President Stubb will visit the new Piispanmäki School and Daycare Center and meet with pupils and staff. The programme will then continue at Kokkola Market Square, where the President will meet locals at a public event starting at 12.20.
Later in the day, President Stubb will attend the opening ceremony of Nokia’s new smart campus in Oulu, which focuses on the development of future radio technology. As part of the opening ceremony, President Stubb will discuss the impact of technology on Europe’s future with Nokia CEO Justin Hotard.
