President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will travel to Mikkeli on Wednesday 15 October 2025.
The day will begin with an inspection of the Finnish Army Command and a presentation of ongoing operations at the Finnish Army Operations Centre. During the visit, the President will meet with both personnel from NATO’s Multi-Corps Land Component Command (MCLCC) and the Finnish Army Command.
Following the inspection, the programme will continue at Saimaanportin yhtenäiskoulu. In this new comprehensive school, inaugurated in 2024, the President will meet pupils and enjoy their performances.
In the afternoon, the President will meet Mikkeli residents at a public event in the Stella Shopping Centre at 13.45.
At the end of the day, the President will visit the Muisti Centre of War and Peace. Muisti (meaning memory and remembrance) is a museum that promotes peace and illustrates how war affects people and society. During the guided tour, the President will also have the opportunity to explore the current exhibitions.
The President was scheduled to visit Mikkeli on Wednesday 10 September, but the date had to be postponed due to scheduling changes.
