President Stubb to visit Parainen

President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will make a visit to Parainen on Tuesday 18 August 2026.

The programme opens with a roundtable lunch discussion on the marine environment of the Archipelago Sea. Participants at the lunch will include Ilkka Herlin, Chair of the Board of the Baltic Sea Action Group, and Board Member Saara Kankaanrinta; Annamari Arrakoski-Engardt, Chief Executive Officer of the John Nurminen Foundation; Christoffer Boström, Associate Professor at Åbo Akademi University; Katja Bonnevier, Coordinator of the Archipelago Sea UNESCO Biosphere Reserve; Jari Hänninen, Adjunct Professor at University of Turku and Director of the Archipelago Research Institute and Tom Simola, Town Manager of Parainen.

The day continues with a visit to Brava Learning Centre, a bilingual campus housing lower secondary schools, upper secondary schools and vocational education providers. President Stubb will be introduced to the learning centre’s operations and vocational education programmes, before being interviewed by students.

The visit will conclude with a public event at Parainen Central Park, where President Stubb will meet local residents starting at 14.30.
