President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney on Friday 16 May 2025.
The President and the Prime Minister discussed ways to strengthen economic and security cooperation between Finland and Canada.
President Stubb emphasized that Canada is an important ally for Finland and that our countries are united by their Arctic location and shared values.
According to President Stubb, Finland and Canada will continue their steadfast support for Ukraine and their efforts to increase pressure on Russia to achieve an unconditional, full ceasefire.
