On Friday 5 June 2026, the President of the Republic of Finland, Alexander Stubb, and his spouse, Suzanne Innes-Stubb, moved to the Presidential Summer Residence, Kultaranta, for the summer.
The programme began with the opening of the annual sculpture exhibition in the Kultaranta Park. The theme of the 2026 exhibition is Growth, exploring the process of personal growth, the vitality of nature and the coexistence between humans and nature. Organised in cooperation with the Alfred Kordelin Foundation and the WAM Museum of Contemporary Art, the exhibition features works by sculptors Tarja Malinen, Umppa Niinivaara, Henna Nuutinen, Kimmo Schroderus and Kim Simonsson. The exhibition is open to the public from 5 June to 30 August 2026.
The day continued with a welcome reception hosted by the City of Naantali. The presidential couple arrived by boat at the Naantali marina, where they were greeted by Laura Leppänen, Mayor of Naantali; Hanna Gustafsson, Chair of the City Council; and Toni Forsblom, Chair of the City Board. A large crowd of city residents and holidaymakers had also gathered at the marina.
Following the greetings, Leo Heikkilä, a pupil from Velkua Primary School, presented Mrs Innes-Stubb with a bouquet of flowers. The event then continued with a musical performance by the Helianthus Choir of the Swedish ballad Så skimrande var aldrig havet. In his speech, President Stubb thanked the hosts and audience for their warm welcome.
“It is a pleasure to be here in Naantali for the summer. The newly renovated park at Kultaranta seems to have come through the winter well and is in excellent condition. I hope that as many as possible will be able to visit it this summer,” said President Stubb.
The programme ended with a coffee reception hosted by the city.
Located on the coast in Naantali, south-west Finland, Kultaranta has been the official summer residence of the President of the Republic of Finland since 1920. During the summer, the President works mainly at Kultaranta. The highlight of the early summer season is the Kultaranta Talks, an annual high‑level foreign and security policy forum hosted by President Stubb on 11–12 June.
During the summer season, the Kultaranta Park is open to visitors on Friday evenings from 18.00 to 20.00.
(The park is exceptionally closed on Friday 12 June and Friday 19 June 2026.)
