Joint Expeditionary Force Leaders’ Summit in Helsinki

President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will host the JEF Leaders’ Summit in Helsinki on Thursday 26 March 2026.

The topics on the agenda include support from the JEF countries to Ukraine and the overall security situation in Europe.

JEF, the Joint Expeditionary force, is a multilateral defence cooperation framework led by the United Kingdom, involving not only the United Kingdom and Finland but also the Netherlands, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Estonia. The aim is to develop the participating countries’ military capabilities through joint exercises, to prevent different crises and, if necessary, to act together in crisis situations. The main operating environment for JEF cooperation is Northern Europe and the Baltic Sea region.

The previous meeting of Heads of State or Government of the JEF countries was held in Norway in May 2025.
