President Stubb receives credentials of new Ambassadors


On Wednesday 21 May 2025, President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb received the credentials of six non-resident Ambassadors accredited to Finland. The ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki.

Letters of credence were presented by:

  • Ambassador of Sri Lanka H.E. (Mr) Kapila Thushara Fonseka (accredited from Stockholm)
  • Ambassador of Laos H.E. (Mr) Bounthavy Vilavong (accredited from Stockholm)
  • Ambassador of Jordan H.E. (Mr) Fayiz Khouri (accredited from Berlin)
  • Ambassador of Benin H.E. (Ms) Corinne Brunet (accredited from Paris)
  • Ambassador of South Africa H.E. (Ms) Zenani Nosizwe Dlamini (accredited from Stockholm)
  • Ambassador of the Republic of the Congo H.E. (Ms) Nana Rosine Aurélie Ivouba (accredited from Stockholm)

A letter of credence is a document issued by the ambassador’s head of state. By presenting the letter to the President of the Republic of Finland, the ambassador is authorised to represent his or her country in Finland. Letters of credence are also referred to as ‘credentials’.
