President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will attend the JEF Leaders’ Summit in Oslo on 8–9 May 2025.

The topics to be discussed include JEF support to Ukraine, the security situation in Europe and the potential to further JEF cooperation, for example in the Arctic. Representatives from all ten countries involved in JEF defence cooperation have been invited to the Summit, which will be hosted by Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre.

The Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) is a multilateral framework for defence cooperation led by the United Kingdom. In addition to the UK, the other participants are Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. The objective is to develop the military capabilities of the participating countries through joint exercises, to prevent crises and, if necessary, to operate together in crisis situations. JEF’s main operating environment is Northern Europe and the Baltic Sea region.

The JEF leaders last met in December 2024 in Estonia.
