President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will participate in a meeting on peace in Ukraine on Wednesday 13 August 2025. The meeting will take place ahead of President Trump’s planned meeting with President Putin.
Convened by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the meeting will be held via video link. In addition to President Stubb, European leaders invited to the meeting include President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of France Emmanuel Macron, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni as well as President of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Council António Costa and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. After the discussion between the European leaders, US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance will join the meeting.
Germany has called the leaders of the Coalition of the Willing to a video meeting immediately after the first two meetings.
