President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will visit Mikkeli on Wednesday 10 September 2025.
The day will begin with an inspection of the Finnish Army Command, where the President will learn about the planned land defence reforms and visit the Finnish Army Operations Centre.
Following the inspection, the programme will continue at the Saimaanportin yhtenäiskoulu, a comprehensive school, where the President will meet pupils and watch them perform on stage. The new school building of Saimaanportti Comprehensive School was inaugurated in 2024.
In the afternoon, the President will meet Mikkeli residents at a public event in the Stella shopping centre at 13.45.
At the end of the day, the President will visit the Muisti Centre of War and Peace. Muisti (meaning memory and remembrance) is a museum that promotes peace and illustrates how war affects people and society. During the tour, the President will have the opportunity to visit the current exhibitions.
